GPT Image 2.6 is the API name for ChatGPT Images 2.6, released by OpenAI on November 4, 2026. It ships as two models — GPT Image 2.6 Flare for fast iteration and GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst for detailed compositions and multi-step edits — and replaces GPT Image 2.5 across ChatGPT, Codex and the OpenAI API.
Three things are new in ChatGPT Images 2.6. It can turn a prompt or a photo into an animated GIF with adjustable speed and per-frame edits. It remembers reference photos of people, pets and characters so you stop re-uploading them. And both models generate about 50% faster than ChatGPT Images 2.5, with Flare finishing simple renders in roughly six seconds.
For developers, GPT Image 2.6 adds a complexity parameter (low, medium, high), SVG vector export, and markup-based editing on the images API — at the same token prices as GPT Image 2.5. This page lets you try the same image workflows without an OpenAI account.

Model lineage
GPT Image 1 → 1.5 → 2 → 2.5 → GPT Image 2.6: each step added speed, readable text, and now GIF and SVG output.
Every capability below comes from OpenAI's ChatGPT Images 2.6 release notes and the GPT Image 2.6 API docs — not marketing guesses.
GPT Image 2.6 turns a prompt or an uploaded photo into a looping GIF: 2 to 64 frames, 20 to 2000 ms per frame, with single-frame edits. Perfect for stickers, memes and product loops.
2–64 frames · adjustable speed
GPT Image 2.6 Flare is built for fast iteration. Simple prompts finish in as little as six seconds, so you can test ten poster layouts in the time 2.5 needed for three.
~6 s at low quality
GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst keeps faces, products and typography stable from one edit to the next — the model to pick for campaigns that need five matching variations.
Arena text-to-image #2
A new low / medium / high complexity setting decides how much planning GPT Image 2.6 does before drawing. Low for quick fixes, high for dense infographics and multi-panel layouts.
low · medium · high
GPT Image 2.6 can return a clean SVG instead of pixels: logos, icons and line illustrations that scale to a billboard without blur. Generations endpoint only, one image per call.
Static SVG output
Store reference photos of yourself, pets or characters once and reuse them. On the API, draw a markup layer to tell GPT Image 2.6 exactly which region to change.

No installation, no OpenAI API key, no Discord. Write, generate, download — the same flow ChatGPT Images 2.6 GIF mode will use.
Tap a popular prompt to remix it, or describe your own scene. English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean prompts all work, including text you want rendered inside the image.
Choose aspect ratio (3:1 to 1:3), format (PNG / WebP / JPEG) and batch size. Text to GIF and SVG appear here when the GPT Image 2.6 engine is connected.
A single render takes about 20 seconds. Download the full-resolution file with a commercial license and no watermark, then refine it in edit mode.
